The Delhi High Court on Monday dismissed AAP leader Somnath Bharti's plea for the Election Commission of India (ECI) to provide him with the burnt memory of EVMs used during the Lok Sabha elections in New Delhi.

However, the court directed the concerned returning officer to preserve VVPAT paper slips in a paper envelope as per the ECI's prescribed procedure.

The court was hearing Bharti's petition challenging the election of BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj from the New Delhi seat, alleging corrupt practices.
