The Congress party took aim at the ruling BJP on Friday, responding to RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat's remarks about public opinion determining divine status. The opposition contends that the bond between Prime Minister Modi and the RSS has sharply deteriorated since the Lok Sabha elections.
Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh, in a post on X, reportedly criticized Modi, hinting that the government's tenure appears increasingly precarious. According to Ramesh, Bhagwat's comments rebuke Modi's claimed non-biological origins and his self-proclaimed divine status.
Bhagwat's statements surfaced during an event marking the centenary of Shankar Dinkar Kane, a prominent figure in Manipur's educational landscape. In the aftermath of the election, Bhagwat expressed his anxiety over prolonged ethnic strife in Manipur, urging progress beyond post-election disputes.
