Controversy Erupts Over Doctor's Death: Allegations of Cover-Up, Political Tensions Mount

The TMC on Thursday refuted accusations of a police cover-up after a woman doctor was allegedly raped and murdered. They insisted that a new video contradicts claims made by the victim's family, showing them previously satisfied with the police investigation.

The victim's family quickly responded, alleging that the video was forcibly recorded by the police shortly after the cremation. The family members, who joined protesting doctors at RG Kar hospital, accused Kolkata Police of hastily cremating the body to suppress evidence.

Senior TMC leader Shashi Panja presented the video during a press conference, where the parents can be heard denying any monetary offer from the police. However, the family stated on Bengali news that the video was made under pressure. Both TMC and BJP are accused of politicizing the issue, adding to the distress of the victim's family.
