CPI (ML) Liberation MP Sudama Prasad on Thursday accused security personnel, accompanying Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, of physically shoving him during the CM's tour of Arrah, his Lok Sabha constituency.

Prasad, who had taken the seat from former Union Minister R K Singh of the BJP, declared the rude treatment an affront to the 530,000 constituents who had supported him in the general elections. He emphasized that while his personal feelings were secondary, his constituents felt deeply insulted by his mistreatment, questioning the treatment of ordinary citizens.

The visit's objective was to launch projects worth nearly Rs 100 crore and inspect an under-construction government medical college. Government officials have not addressed Prasad's allegations, but the RJD, an ally of CPI (ML), shared the story on X, claiming the aging CM was "benumbed" and oblivious to his surroundings.

Prasad remarked that his name was included among the invitees, but his attempt to present the CM with a bouquet was ignored by the CM's commandos. He mentioned that his embarrassment was noticeable to Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha and state health minister Mangal Pandey, who later greeted him. Prasad also highlighted the locals' hopes to bring flood-related issues to the CM's attention, subtly criticizing the CM's busy schedule and suggesting the event could have been conducted virtually.
