NCP leader Anil Deshmukh on Wednesday alleged that the Central Bureau of Investigation has filed a new, baseless case against him. He attributed this move to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis panicking.
Deshmukh, who is already facing a CBI case for alleged corruption and another registered by the Enforcement Directorate, refuted the new charges, labeling them as part of a conspiracy.
'This conspiracy has started as Fadnavis has panicked after seeing the people's mandate. I am not scared at all by such threats and pressure,' he asserted, pledging to combat what he termed the BJP's 'repressive rule'. He implored people to scrutinize Fadnavis' 'perverse and low-level' politics, especially with upcoming assembly polls.
