Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu criticized opposition parties in Himachal Pradesh during the Assembly monsoon session, accusing them of prioritizing fights and slogans over constructive debate. 'The opposition comes to the assembly only to fight and raise slogans,' he remarked.

The government was prepared to discuss a proposal on the state's economic condition, but Sukhu highlighted the opposition's refusal to debate after Question Hour as indicative of their 'bankruptcy.' He noted internal divisions among opposition MLAs, further disrupting proceedings. Sukhu defended the Assembly Speaker, stating, 'The Assembly Speaker works according to the rules,' and emphasized constructive dialogue.

Sukhu raised concerns about the financial strain of the state's budget, mentioning the annual expenditure of twenty-five thousand crores on salaries and pensions. The opposition tables a no-confidence motion against Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania following a controversial statement. The notice was submitted before House proceedings, with BJP MLA Inder Dutt Lakhanpal demanding an apology from Pathania.
