Manipur BJP MLA Rajkumar Imo Singh has appealed to Union Home Minister Amit Shah to withdraw central forces from the strife-torn state, citing their ineffectiveness in restoring peace.
In a letter to Shah, Singh, who is also the son-in-law of Chief Minister N Biren Singh, argued that around 60,000 central troops have failed to bring stability.
Singh suggested transferring the Unified Command authority to the state government for better coordination and efficiency in tackling the ongoing violence.
