Former Union Minister Arjun Munda on Sunday referred to the Jharkhand government's recently launched 'Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman Yojana' as a 'deception' against the state's mothers and sisters.
Munda emphasized that the JMM had pledged the scheme prior to the 2019 assembly elections, asserting that if the government were honest, they should deliver the promised amount in a single installment.
He insisted the government send Rs 60,000 in one installment or face BJP agitation for reneging on their campaign promise.
Munda, a former chief minister of Jharkhand, pointed out that the Hemant Soren-led government, which came into power in December 2019, should fulfill its promise by January 2020. He criticized the decision to launch the scheme just months before the upcoming assembly elections, accusing the government of using the initiative for political gain.
He further alleged the state government had failed to keep any of its pre-2019 poll promises, including employment allowances and crop purchase commitments.
When asked about former chief minister Champai Soren's recent shift to the BJP, Munda said his experience will bolster the party, exciting its workers.
