Kerala's ruling CPI(M) has announced a significant leadership change, replacing veteran E P Jayarajan with T P Ramakrishnan as LDF convener. The party made this decision during a state committee meeting, addressing controversies surrounding Jayarajan's comments during the Lok Sabha polls and his interactions with BJP leaders.
State Secretary M V Govindan clarified that Jayarajan's replacement was due to certain actions and limitations that affected his role within the Left front. These issues were discussed comprehensively before arriving at the decision.
The opposition, led by the Congress-backed UDF, seized this development to bolster their claims about Jayarajan's affiliations with BJP figures, further questioning CPI(M)'s internal dynamics and relationships with the BJP. Jayarajan has not commented on the decision.
