BJP leader Jai Ram Thakur has highlighted the escalating debt crisis in Himachal Pradesh, emphasizing the state's inability to pay its employees. Thakur criticized the Sukhvinder Sukhu administration for deferring payments, predicting that delays could become routine.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced in the Vidhan Sabha that salaries for ministers and officials will be deferred for two months, pointing to the state's severe financial woes. Sukhu has blamed the previous BJP government for the financial troubles.

Thakur, however, claims that the current Congress government has accrued a staggering Rs 24,000 crore in debt within 20 months, projecting it to reach Rs 1 lakh crore by the fiscal year's end. Sukhu previously mentioned that Rs 21,366 crore had been raised in loans, with Rs 5,864 crore repaid in the past 20 months.
