Mayawati, the BSP supremo, on Friday criticized the Congress for its proposed 'Bharat Dojo Yatra,' labeling it a 'mockery' of those struggling with poverty. She emphasized that the politicization of sports is detrimental.
In a post on X, she questioned the Congress' priorities, pointing out that while martial arts may benefit people with full stomachs, millions are battling poverty, unemployment, and inflation. Mayawati said these families are compelled to work tirelessly just to feed themselves.
The former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister also criticized governments for failing to provide livelihoods and accused the Congress and its INDI Alliance of exploiting marginalized communities for votes, only to overlook their struggles later. She condemned the political use of sports and urged for sensitivity toward the poor.
