Election Commission Announces Second Phase of Assembly Polls in Jammu and Kashmir

The Election Commission has issued a notification for the second phase of assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, set for September 25. Voting will cover 26 assembly segments across six districts. The deadline for filing nominations is September 5, with scrutiny on September 6 and withdrawal allowed until September 9.

The Election Commission on Thursday announced the second phase of the assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir, scheduled for September 25.

Voters in 26 assembly segments across Srinagar, Ganderbal, Budgam, Poonch, Rajouri, and Reasi will head to the polls. Nominations are due by September 5 and will be scrutinized the next day, with candidates allowed to withdraw until September 9.

This phase includes key areas such as Kangan, Ganderbal, Hazratbal, and Lal Chowk, among others. Srinagar district, with 7.74 lakh eligible voters, will see eight seats contested in this phase.
