The BJP on Wednesday launched a fresh offensive against the Congress, accusing it of irregularities in land allocation to a trust run by AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge's family in Karnataka. BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi claimed the land was allocated without an auction, marking another corruption case since Congress took power.
Trivedi stated that the land was intended for social welfare but was allocated to Kharge's family despite 72 pending applications. He questioned the Karnataka government on why no e-auction was conducted, suggesting the Congress operates a 'direct benefit' mechanism.
BJP's Lahar Singh Siroya questioned the eligibility of Kharge's family for the land, hinting at misuse of power. In response, Karnataka Minister M B Patil claimed the land was allocated by the book and dismissed the allegations as baseless.
