The BJP on Tuesday petitioned the Karnataka Governor seeking the dismissal of Minister Priyank Kharge over the alleged nepotism in allotting land to a family-run trust, including Congress President M Mallikarjun Kharge.
Leader of Opposition, Chalavadi T Narayanaswamy, claimed the allotment is a criminal breach of trust against fellow SC entrepreneurs. However, CM Siddaramaiah defended the land allocation, insisting it was legally conducted.
Priyank Kharge, who oversees Electronics, IT/BT, and Rural Development, dismissed the allegations as political maneuvering. The trust received a five-acre land in an aerospace park, prompting questions on the Kharges' eligibility. The case raises concerns about misuse of power and nepotism.
