Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday urged Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren to resign, claiming he has failed to fulfill his 2019 election promises.

Sarma alleged that the Jharkhand government has failed on various fronts, including controlling infiltration. He criticized the JMM-led coalition for filing FIRs against around 12,000 people, including BJP leaders, during a BJYM rally in Ranchi.

Sarma described the government's actions as unprecedented in independent India, arguing that democracy allows for protest. He called for the removal of the Jharkhand DGP, citing the need for fair elections in the state.
