The accident occurred as Pandita was en route to Jagti migrant township when a truck fatally crushed him, officials confirmed.

Pandita, who served as the vice chairman of the Kashmiri Migrant Cell, was a stalwart in advocating for Kashmiri migrants' rights and had been associated with the Congress party since his Youth Congress days. His untimely demise has left the party leadership in deep shock. Condolences poured in from national and local Congress leaders, who mourned the loss of a dedicated leader.
