In a scathing critique on Thursday, BRS leader Harish Rao Thanneeru targeted the Congress-led state government in Telangana, accusing it of reneging on its promise to waive farm loans. Rao pointed to unfulfilled promises of loan waivers worth Rs 2 lakh to farmers, allegedly promised before and during elections.

Further emphasizing the alleged deceit, Rao mentioned that the Congress had committed to waiving loans by specific dates, including December 9 and August 15, yet failed to deliver. He accused the government of exploiting farmers for votes by falsely promising loan waivers, noting that less than half of the farmers have benefited from the scheme.

Rao also highlighted ongoing farmer protests and criticized the government for filing non-bailable cases against protesting farmers, labeling it an act of harassment. BRS Working President KT Rama Rao echoed these sentiments, demanding the withdrawal of cases and urging the government to honor its commitments without further delay.
