A day before the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha's 'Yuva Aakrosh Rally' in Ranchi, authorities issued prohibitory orders banning public gatherings near Morabadi Ground.
The orders will be in effect from 11am to 11pm on Friday to prevent any potential law and order issues. Ranchi Sub-Divisional Officer Utkarsh Kumar stated that Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, which replaces Section 144 of the CrPC, has been enforced within a 500-metre radius of the ground, excluding the ground itself.
The prohibitory orders ban public meetings, rallies, and gatherings of more than five people. The carrying of arms, ammunition, and traditional weapons like lathis, spears, and bows and arrows is also prohibited, along with the use of loudspeakers. Concerns were raised about potential disruptions, traffic issues, and law and order situations if the activities were permitted.
