Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Wednesday issued a warning about informed individuals leading the public astray, despite knowing they are not on the right path. Speaking at an event, Dhankhar referenced the recent passage of three new criminal-justice laws and expressed disappointment that notable senior advocates, who are members of Rajya Sabha, did not partake in the debate.

Dhankhar voiced frustration over senior advocates' public outcries against the bills despite their absenteeism from the debate. He particularly cited a former finance minister who had opposed the death penalty in his objections, raising questions about his consistency given his past governance roles during significant incidents.

The Vice President also mentioned historical instances such as the Emergency period in 1975, urging citizens to stay vigilant against individuals working to undermine national institutions from within and outside the country.
