Traffic was disrupted in Bihar on Wednesday as protestors blocked roads in support of the Bharat Bandh, which various groups called to protest community-based reservations.
In Jehanabad, clashes erupted between agitators and security personnel on National Highway-83, resulting in five arrests. Normalcy was eventually restored, Sub-Inspector Hulas Baitha confirmed.
Similar disruptions occurred in Madhepura and Muzaffarpur, although security forces quickly dispersed the crowds. Despite the protests, recruitment exams for Bihar Police and other units proceeded without incident, thanks to diligent transportation arrangements. The RJD and other INDIA bloc partners supported the bandh, which was held to oppose a Supreme Court ruling on SC-ST reservations.
