Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday criticized Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, urging him to act as a representative of the President of India, rather than the central government.
He alleged that the Governor should not be 'selective' in granting prosecution sanctions. Gehlot had recently given the go-ahead for prosecuting Siddaramaiah in connection with the Mysuru Urban Development Authority site allotment 'scam.'
Siddaramaiah pointed out that the Governor has yet to approve the prosecution of various BJP ministers while swiftly acting on complaints against him. He condemned this as biased and accused the BJP of targeting him due to his pro-poor and pro-Dalit stance.
