In an extraordinary display of solidarity, leaders from the top workers unions in the United States have thrown their support behind Vice President Kamala Harris's presidential campaign. They highlighted the continued support their groups have received during the Biden-Harris administration.

Union leaders from across the nation gathered at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago on Monday, delivering a unified message: 'Workers support Vice President Harris because she has supported them.' Harris, 59, is set to formally accept the Democratic Party's presidential nomination on Thursday to face off against Republican rival Donald Trump, 78, in the November 5 election.

April Verrett, president of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), stated, 'We are all in for Kamala Harris because Kamala Harris has always been all in for us… She shares our vision for a modern-day labor movement, one that meets the needs of 21st-century workers and prepares the economy for the future.'

Brent Booker, president of the Laborers' International Union of North America (LiUNA), added, 'The Biden-Harris administration delivered on their promises, allowing our members to buy homes, send their kids to school, and retire with dignity. As president, Kamala Harris will keep fighting for workers who are building America.'

Union leaders also criticized Trump for undermining workers' rights and incentivizing companies to outsource jobs while benefiting the wealthy. Kenneth Cooper, President of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), praised Harris for supporting American manufacturing and saving their pension plans.

Liz Shuler, President of the American Federation of Labour and Congress of Industrial Organisations (AFL-CIO), emphasized, 'Harris and Tim Walz will continue fighting for an opportunity economy, where there are no gendered jobs – just good union jobs.'

Claude Cummings, president of the Communications Workers of America, noted that as Vice President, Harris facilitated the largest investment in broadband ever. Lee Saunders, president of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, added, 'Joe Biden and Kamala Harris pulled the economy back from the brink. This November, we're moving forward with Kamala Harris as our President.'
