The Karnataka High Court on Monday adjourned the hearing on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's plea against the Governor's sanction to file corruption cases linked to the alleged MUDA scam, setting a new date for August 29. Siddaramaiah asserted his full faith in the Constitution and the judiciary's capacity to ensure justice.

In a statement posted on X, Siddaramaiah highlighted his confidence that truth will ultimately prevail. He condemned Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot's decision to permit an inquiry and prosecution as illegal and politically motivated, calling it based on trumped-up allegations. 'I am pleased that the Hon'ble High Court heard the matter and issued interim orders to defer the proceedings,' he wrote.

On Monday, the Karnataka High Court directed the trial court not to take any precipitative action against Siddaramaiah until the next hearing. Justice M Nagaprasanna's bench set August 29 for the continuation of the case. Senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, representing Siddaramaiah, claimed that the Governor had not provided any substantive reasons for the sanction, describing the decision as inconsistent with Cabinet guidelines.

Previously, social activist Snehamayi Krishna filed a complaint against Siddaramaiah and nine others alleging forgery of documents to claim compensation from the Mysuru Urban Development Authority. ANI reported.
