AIMIM Maharashtra Chief Imtiaz Jaleel has attributed the BJP's failure to secure over 400 seats to Muslim voters supporting the opposition INDIA bloc. He emphasized the commitment of Muslims who voted in extreme conditions and criticized the BJP for their treatment, particularly highlighting an incident in Kolhapur.
Jaleel expressed his willingness to support the INDIA alliance, pointing out that assembly elections are determined by local issues, differing from Lok Sabha elections. He urged the opposition to acknowledge the significance of Muslim votes and called for a strategic partnership to defeat the BJP.
A press conference witnessed tensions as Faiyaz Ahmed Khan's replacement as Mumbai AIMIM chief led to protests. Jaleel addressed the situation, stressing the need for discipline within the party. Meanwhile, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar cited security, rainfall, and upcoming festivals as reasons for not scheduling Maharashtra elections immediately.
