National Conference vice-president Omar Abdullah on Monday reaffirmed his party's commitment to restoring statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, stating they would approach the Supreme Court if the Centre fails to act.
Abdullah assured reporters that they are confident of reclaiming statehood in the initial stages and emphasized that all necessary powers to fulfill their promises lie with the government of J-K.
Addressing the media after unveiling the National Conference's manifesto, Abdullah stressed that if the Centre hesitates, they would remind the Supreme Court of India's promise to restore statehood. He expressed determination to fight politically for the restoration of Article 370 and reaffirmed the party's stance against allying with the BJP, focusing instead on potential alliances with the Congress.
