The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to launch an ambitious membership drive on September 1, targeting over 10 crore new members as it gears up for the Assembly polls in four states. The announcement came following a high-level meeting in Delhi chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President JP Nadda.

During the four-hour meeting, strategies for the membership campaign were discussed extensively, aiming to recruit a significant number of new members. Existing members, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and key leaders, will renew their membership via a missed call mechanism. The anticipated missed call number, 8800002024, will be employed to facilitate the process, according to sources.

Several senior members have been appointed as in-charges for different regions: Vinod Tawde for Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and others; Dushyant Gautam for West Bengal and adjacent states; Rekha Verma for Delhi and its vicinities; D Purandeshwari for Kerala and southern regions; Arvind Menon for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and neighboring areas; Rajdeep Roy for Northeastern states; Vijaya Rahatkar for Chhattisgarh and Karnataka; Rituraj Sinha for Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat; and Atul Garg for Uttarakhand and Bihar.
