The opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) in Maharashtra is gearing up for a decisive meeting on August 7 to strategize seat-sharing and other critical aspects for the upcoming state assembly elections, according to a senior leader.
Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Balasaheb Thorat revealed the agenda after discussions with Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, emphasizing that the criteria for seat-sharing among the alliance members will be a focal point. 'Swapping of seats is also on the table to ensure winning candidates take the forefront,' Thorat added.
Additional topics included planning election rallies. The MVA, which includes the Congress, Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar), and Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray), is set for elections likely in October. All India Congress Committee (AICC) Maharashtra in-charge, Ramesh Chennithala, will visit Mumbai from August 3 for pre-meeting discussions with state leaders.
