U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris's campaign reported a major boost, raising $200 million and signing 170,000 new volunteers shortly after her nomination as the Democratic presidential candidate. This follows President Joe Biden's decision to withdraw from the race and endorse Harris against Republican rival Donald Trump.

Harris' campaign deputy manager, Rob Flaherty, highlighted on social media that 66% of the funds came from new donors. Polls, including one by Reuters/Ipsos, indicate a tight race between Harris and Trump, setting up a contentious 100-day lead to the election.

Trump's team stated it had raised $331 million from April through June, with $284.9 million in cash reserves. Harris is expected to secure the Democratic National Convention's majority delegate support, solidifying her nomination.
