Afghanistan opener Ibrahim Zadran is in doubt for the one-off Test against New Zealand after sustaining an ankle injury during a practice session on Sunday. The 22-year-old hurt himself just before Afghanistan's historic Test match, scheduled to start on Monday.

At the pre-match press conference, Afghanistan skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi provided an update, saying, ''Today, in the practice session, Ibrahim had an injury in his ankle. But it's not sure 100 per cent what will happen tomorrow. We will see what will happen with him.''

Zadran, who has played seven of Afghanistan's nine Test matches, scored his maiden century in the format earlier this year against Sri Lanka. The team will also be without star spinner Rashid Khan, and persistent rain has disrupted preparations for both teams.
