Both Houses of the Karnataka Legislature were adjourned sine die amid protests by the opposition BJP and JD(S). Both Houses of the Karnataka Legislature were adjourned sine die on Thursday, following continued protests by opposition parties, BJP and JD(S). The opposition demanded a thorough discussion on alleged fraudulent land allotments by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority, including allocations to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's wife, Parvathi.
The session, which started on July 15 and was slated to continue until July 26, saw heightened tensions as the opposition intensified their demands.
Amid relentless sloganeering by BJP and JD(S) MLAs gathered in the well of the House, Assembly Speaker U T Khader announced the adjournment. Similarly, the Council experienced uproarious scenes, leading Deputy Chairman M K Pranesh to adjourn it sine die as well.
