Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has briefed the Congress high command on current political developments in the state, including a controversial prosecution sanction against him by the Governor, which he has branded as 'anti-Constitutional and illegal.'
During their meeting in New Delhi, Siddaramaiah, along with Deputy CM D K Shivakumar and senior ministers, updated AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi. They also discussed the Governor's recent decision to return certain Bills for reconsideration, with the Cabinet set to decide the next steps.
The prosecution sanction stems from allegations linked to the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site allotment scam. Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot's decision, granted under Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act, has significantly impacted the Congress-led state government, which is now challenging the decision in the High Court.
