Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday honored freedom fighters Chandra Shekhar Azad and Bal Gangadhar Tilak on their birth anniversary.

In a message on X, Modi praised Azad as a fearless revolutionary dedicated to India's freedom. 'His ideals and thoughts continue to resonate with millions, especially the youth,' Modi noted.

Modi remembered Tilak as a visionary and nationalist icon who championed education and service. Referencing his speech at the Lokmanya Tilak National Award ceremony, Modi emphasized Tilak's role in igniting nationalist fervor.

Chandra Shekhar Azad, who organized revolutionary movements opposing non-violence, died at 24, choosing death over surrender. He is celebrated alongside Bhagat Singh in India's revolutionary history.

Tilak, well-regarded for mobilizing public support through cultural and political initiatives, remains a significant figure in the quest for independence.
