Pakistan police arrested Rauf Hasan, information secretary of Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), in a raid on the party's central secretariat, intensifying the crackdown on the Opposition.

Earlier reports suggested PTI chairman Gohar Ali Khan was also detained, but a PTI spokesperson denied this, confirming only Hasan's arrest. Details on the charges against Hasan remain unclear, though he was attacked weeks ago, sustaining facial bruises.

PTI condemned the arrest on its official X account, criticizing Islamabad police for disregarding laws. PTI leader Khurram Sher Zaman reported confiscation of documents and equipment during the raid. SSP Hassan Jahangir Wattoo led the operation.

This raid follows the recent arrest of PTI's international media coordinator Ahmad Waqas Janjua, who was remanded for seven days on charges related to explosives and banned organizations.
