In a recent interview, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban condemned the violent attacks on anti-war advocates, specifically mentioning former U.S. President Donald Trump and Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico. Fico was targeted in an assassination attempt in mid-May, while Trump survived a shooting in July.
Orban, a right-wing nationalist in power since 2010, stated that these attacks are directed towards pro-peace politicians. He believes pro-war forces are trying to eliminate pro-peace voices from the political arena.
Recently, Orban visited Trump as part of a self-styled Ukraine 'peace mission,' and discussed various topics including economics. Orban's Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto believes a potential second term for Trump could bring peace to Ukraine. Orban's team is actively assisting Trump's aides with policy development.
