Soldiers Ajay Singh and Bijendra, who were killed in a gunfight with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district, were cremated with full military and state honors in Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu district.

Their bodies were brought to Jaipur in a special plane and then transported by road to their native villages in Jhunjhunu.

A 'Tiranga Yatra' preceded the funerals, drawing hundreds of mourners.

Minister of State for Home Jawahar Singh Bedham and Khetri MLA Dharampal Gurjar attended the funeral of Soldier Bijendra, while Industries Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore offered condolences at the funeral of Soldier Ajay Singh.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma announced a compensation package for the soldiers' families.

Earlier, several officials and army officers paid floral tributes to the martyrs at Jaipur airport.

Four armymen, including a captain, were killed in a fierce encounter with terrorists of the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) in Doda's dense forests.
