The Uttar Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party convened its State Working Committee meeting at the Ambedkar Auditorium of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Law University in Lucknow on Sunday. This pivotal meeting comes in the wake of the party's disappointing performance in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, where it secured fewer seats than anticipated. BJP National President JP Nadda, alongside Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Ministers Brajesh Pathak and KP Maurya, and other key ministers, graced the event.

Uttar Pradesh Minister AK Sharma welcomed the national president, expressing hopes that the gathering would infuse new energy and direction among party workers. The primary agenda included passing political proposals and paying tributes to departed party officials. Issues on the table also covered the upcoming by-elections for ten seats and a comprehensive review of the Lok Sabha election results.

Preceding the event, extensive preparations and heavy police deployment ensured security. The meeting, initiated by state president Bhupendra Chaudhary, was expected to run from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, concluding with a speech by JP Nadda. The Chief Minister also addressed attendees, emphasizing the need for internal democracy and collective decision-making within the party. Key attendees included more than 1,900 Mandal Presidents, District Presidents, Regional Presidents, and General Secretaries.
