Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav joined the Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Gwalior on Saturday, extending his congratulations to ISKCON for organizing the event. Yadav, along with the Madhya Pradesh assembly speaker and former union minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Gwalior MP Bharat Singh Kushwaha, and other notable BJP leaders, participated in the procession.

'I would like to congratulate ISKCON for organising this Jagannath Yatra. I wish that the people continue to have the blessings of God. May Lord Krishna bless us all. This is the 5th year of the Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in Gwalior, including Lord Krishna, Lord Balaram, and Subhadra,' CM Yadav commented to the media. The Yatra featured several tableaux and exhibits accompanying the chariot of Lord Jagannath, traversing various streets in the city.

'Today is the grand Rath Yatra festival of Lord Jagannath. People have joined this procession with great enthusiasm and devotion. The city's residents have also worshipped Lord Jagannath and prayed for continued prosperity and well-being. Regarding the victory in the Amravada Assembly elections, it is a victory of development and the efforts of the workers,' said Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar. Known as the Chariot Festival, the Rath Yatra is believed to be as ancient as the Jagannath Temple in Puri. Celebrated according to the Hindu calendar on the Dwitiya Tithi of Shukla Paksha in Ashadh, the Puri Jagannath Rath Yatra took place last week.

The festival centers around Lord Jagannath, an avatar of Lord Vishnu, and his siblings. The deities - Lord Jagannath, his brother Balabhadra, and his sister Subhadra - are ceremoniously carried on wooden chariots from the Jagannath Temple to the Gundicha Temple in Puri during the Yatra, a tradition with ancient roots.
