West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee declared on Saturday that her state government will propose a resolution against the NEET exam and the new criminal laws, 2024, during the upcoming assembly session. According to CM Banerjee, these discussions will highlight two vital issues troubling the state.

Chief Minister Banerjee revealed that the new criminal bills have created fear, even among the medical community. She pointed out that suspending 147 ministers from Parliament to pass the bill without discussion was unacceptable. Banerjee criticized the BJP's 'Agency Raj,' noting that the new criminal bills pose a threat to everyone's freedom and could turn anyone into a victim. Journalists and doctors, in particular, are fearful of the implications.

Mamata Banerjee called upon the current government to review the newly passed criminal laws. She emphasized the provision that allows the new government to reassess prior decisions made in the last six months of the previous administration's term. Banerjee stressed that the rushed passage of such important legal frameworks undermines governance, the judiciary, and the police.

The West Bengal CM also mocked the BJP's recent assembly by-poll performance, asserting that except for two seats, the results favored the INDIA alliance, not the NDA. She argued that the national trend is against the BJP and firmly in support of the INDIA alliance, which received a higher percentage of the popular vote.

Discussing specific seats, Banerjee noted the importance of regions like Ranaghat, Bagda, Manicktala, and Raiganj. She celebrated Supti Pandey's and Krishna Kalyani's victories, attributing the wins to the public's support against orchestrated BJP maneuvers. Banerjee reiterated the Trinamool Congress's dedication to Bengal's safety, security, and cultural integrity.
