The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has directed the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) to urgently address a complaint about industrial activities encroaching on agricultural land in Delhi.
On December 23, NGT's bench, consisting of Chairperson Justice Prakash Shrivastava and expert member A Senthil Vel, permitted the complainant to submit a detailed grievance to the DPCC Member Secretary, supported by all relevant materials.
The bench was assessing a plea against unauthorized industrial operations on agricultural plots in West Delhi's Mundka village. However, it noted the complainant did not provide detailed accounts of these operations nor evidence of consulting relevant authorities first. The DPCC has been instructed to inspect the site, verify claims, and initiate legal remediation within eight weeks of receiving the application.
