NCC Republic Day Camp 2025 Begins: Record Participation by Girl Cadets and Diverse Representation

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) Republic Day (RD) Camp 2025 officially commenced at the Cariappa Parade Ground, Delhi Cantonment, on December 30, 2024, with a traditional “Sarva Dharm Pooja” ceremony symbolizing unity in diversity. This year’s camp is historic, with the participation of 917 girl cadets—the highest number to date. In total, 2,361 cadets from across India’s 28 states and 8 Union Territories are attending the month-long camp.
A “Mini India” in Action
The cadet contingent includes 114 cadets from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh and 178 cadets from the North East Region, reflecting the diverse cultural fabric of India. This gathering epitomizes “Mini India,” showcasing the country’s unity amid diversity.
Adding an international dimension, cadets and officers from 14 Friendly Foreign Countries (FFCs) are also part of the camp as participants under the Youth Exchange Programme (YEP). This initiative strengthens global camaraderie and cultural exchange among young leaders.
Inaugural Address by DGNCC
Lieutenant General Gurbirpal Singh, Director General of NCC (DGNCC), addressed the cadets during the inauguration, congratulating them on their selection for the prestigious camp. He encouraged them to exemplify the highest values of character, integrity, selfless service, comradeship, and teamwork, transcending barriers of religion, language, and caste under the spirit of "Nation First."

The Republic Day Camp aims to instill patriotism, discipline, and leadership qualities among cadets.
