The Uttar Pradesh Police have taken action against Seema Beg, the wife of imprisoned Samajwadi Party MLA Zahid Beg, for evading a court appearance despite having a non-bailable warrant out for her arrest.
This move comes after a directive from the court was issued on Wednesday, officials noted.
Superintendent of Police Meenakshi Katyan confirmed that Seema Beg's continued non-compliance led to the filing of a case against her under BNS section 209 at the Kotwali police station. The case traces back to a prior charge of abetment of suicide against Zahid Beg and his family.
