A tragic incident unfolded in Odisha's Ganjam district when a couple was brutally murdered over a land dispute. The 62-year-old man and his wife were allegedly attacked by the husband's younger brother and his family.
The attack occurred on Wednesday while the couple worked in an agricultural field within Somaiguda under Aska police station limits. The husband died on the spot due to profuse bleeding, while his wife succumbed to her injuries on the way to the hospital.
Authorities have detained Bhubuni, the deceased man's younger brother, and his wife Ranjita for questioning, while their son Papun remains absconding. Police and forensic teams are investigating, with the deceased's son lodging a complaint leading to a registered murder case.
