In Prayagraj, aspirants launched a protest against the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) following its decision to schedule the RO-ARO and PCS preliminary exams on different days. The protest, organized at UPPSC headquarters, saw students demanding exams be conducted in a single shift, unlike the current staggered schedule.
A large number of police personnel attempted to control the situation as the protesters, dissatisfied with the exam scheduling, raised slogans and defied barricades. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (City), Abhishek Bharti, encouraged the students to relocate their protest to a designated area for a peaceful demonstration. However, some aspirants insisted on continuing their sit-in at the commission office.
Political criticism also emerged, with Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav condemning the police's approach towards protesters and labeling the BJP government as 'anti-youth' for its exam policy. Yadav affirmed his support for the students and called for solidarity against alleged injustices during UPPCS examinations.
