A man has been handed a five-year prison sentence for attacking a police team, according to recent reports from law enforcement. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 6,000.
The convicted individual, Raj Thakur, also known as Raju, was apprehended on August 30, 2019, following a confrontation in the Sector 39 police station jurisdiction. During the encounter, Thakur reportedly attacked the station in-charge, Rajesh Kumar Sharma, and other officers.
After thorough investigation, authorities filed a charge sheet against Thakur. The Gautam Buddha Nagar district court conducted the trial proceedings and on Tuesday delivered the guilty verdict.
