A 35-year-old rape convict, currently on parole, has been accused of raping his minor daughter and a 12-year-old niece in Chhattisgarh's Koriya district, police revealed on Tuesday. Arrested on the night of October 26, the fugitive had been on the run for several days.
According to Baikunthpur police, the suspect first assaulted his 11-year-old daughter in a room on October 19, followed by another attack in a nearby jungle. Under threat of harm, the victim initially remained silent until a complaint was filed against him by other family members.
Subsequently, on October 21, the suspect also raped his niece in a forest area. The niece reported the crime with her mother the next day. Two significant cases under the BNS and POCSO Act were registered. The police tracked the suspect's location by tracing phone calls, leading to his capture on October 26.
