In Bihar's Madhubani district, two US nationals, including a woman, were detained for allegedly attempting to cross the India-Nepal border without valid travel documents, according to police sources.

The detained individuals, identified as California residents, were intercepted by personnel of the 48th battalion of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) near the Betaunha border outpost on Saturday afternoon, as they tried to leave India for Nepal.

Authorities also apprehended two locals accused of providing logistical support to the couple during their stay in the Jainagar area. The matter remains under investigation, confirmed Deputy Superintendent Ankur Kumar.
