In a significant escalation of civil unrest, Dutch police arrested over 100 pro-Palestinian demonstrators in Amsterdam who defied a municipal ban on protests. The ban was enforced following a violent clash between Israeli football supporters and Amsterdam residents, sparking outrage and calls for peace.

The protestors, who gathered in Amsterdam's Dam Square on Sunday, demanded an end to Israel's military actions in Gaza. Despite the Amsterdam District Court's decision to uphold the protest ban, many demonstrated peacefully until confronted by aggressive police intervention, reportedly distressing tourists in the area.

The protest prohibition, initially set for three days, was extended until Thursday as unrest simmered following the Europa League game involving Maccabi Tel Aviv. Meanwhile, international condemnation poured in, with US President Joe Biden denouncing antisemitic acts during the protests, reaffirming solidarity with Israel.
