Heightened security concerns gripped Mumbai's airports this week after three airlines received bomb threats via their social media accounts. The targets included major carriers Indigo, Air India, and Vistara. Upon thorough verification, law enforcement authorities confirmed that these threats were mere hoaxes.
The alerts were sent by an X user, identified by the handle @Mandaimassacre, who ominously described himself with threatening language. The messages contained specific flight numbers and warned of impending explosions on the planes.
Despite the false alarm, this marks a serious trend, as the Mumbai police have now registered a total of 14 similar cases this month. Only one has culminated in an arrest, involving a teenage suspect from Chhattisgarh. The police filed complaints under the Aircraft Act and Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) as they continue to investigate these threats.
