In a significant development for the aviation sector, Vistara operated its last flights before its anticipated merger with Air India. The final international flight, UK 115, took off from Delhi for Singapore shortly after midnight, marking the end of an era in Indian aviation.
Meanwhile, the domestic flight UK 986 departed from Mumbai for Delhi, both utilizing the 'UK' code one last time. Starting Tuesday, Vistara flights will adopt the new 'AI2XXX' code, signaling their integration into the Air India network.
Vistara, a collaboration between Tatas and Singapore Airlines, commenced its journey on January 9, 2015. The merger will see Singapore Airlines acquiring a 25.1% stake in the combined entity, marking a new chapter in Indian aviation.
