In response to a lethal terror attack near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Gulmarg sector of Jammu and Kashmir, security forces launched an extensive search operation on Friday. The attack, which left four people dead, including two soldiers, has prompted a combing operation along the LoC and the adjacent area.
The search operation, aimed at tracing and neutralizing the terrorists involved, is utilizing both human and technical intelligence inputs. The routes surrounding the attack site have been sealed by the security forces as a precautionary measure.
Senior police and Army officers are supervising the ongoing operation. The assault occurred Thursday when terrorists opened fire on an Army vehicle en route to Nagin post, resulting in casualties among soldiers and porters. Reports suggest that a terrorist group may have infiltrated the area earlier this year, taking refuge in the higher reaches of the Afrawat range.
